Hi humans,
The word ‘dismantling’ keeps coming up in books I’m reading, podcasts I’m listening to, social media posts I pause at1, and via messages from within me.
I thought I’d bring the word here, too.
Reasons why:
The word has a lot to teach me right now.
Experimentation often requires dismantling at the start as well iteratively through the entire process.
Things / ideas you could be excited or curious about dismantling:
How you greet your neighbors
What you do in your free time
Your attention habits (who, what, and where you give your attention in a habitual way)
The ways you stay in touch with people who live far away from you
The ways you determine a truth
The ways you lead and follow
The ways you say goodbye to someone or something
?
What are you in the midst of dismantling?
Til tomorrow,
Cassandra
Though I’ve been off all Big Social (B.S. as I call it) for about a week and a half now (except to find a new home for a dog bed) and it feels nice to me.
Trying to dismantle my career! And my marriage (in a good way). And I'm in constant pursuit of how to make tasks around the house more efficient/flow more easily. I've never used the word dismantle in this context, but I think I do this all the time. Not about everything, though, and I could probably stand to be more thoughtful about it.
